CHARITY MARTIN KING
Charity has always believed that strong communities are built through intentional leadership and shared opportunity. For more than three decades, she has worked across businesses, educational institutions, and civic spaces to design strategies that connect people to pathways of economic mobility and lifelong learning. Her career reflects a deep commitment to aligning people with workforce systems, entrepreneurship, and community-driven solutions in ways that create lasting impact.
Charity has held academic and leadership roles at The Ohio State University, worked with K–12 students as an I Know I Can advisor, and varsity basketball head coach at Eastmoor Academy. She has led nonprofit organizations and cross-sector partnerships. Her experiences have allowed her to develop and scale various initiatives in career pathways alignment, community-engaged learning, responsive leadership training, and experiential education models.
As the founder of Urban Spirit Coffee House, a social enterprise incubator, Charity created a space where entrepreneurship, education, and civic dialogue converged. The venture served as a platform for emerging leaders, small businesses, and community partners to collaborate and grow, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to innovation grounded in community.
Her leadership is authentic and action-oriented, grounded in a deep commitment to connecting people with meaningful opportunities to serve and strengthen the greater community. She believes real impact happens when individuals, organizations, and institutions work together toward a shared vision. Through collaboration, mentorship, and strategic partnerships, she creates pathways for others to lead, give back, and build lasting change that benefits the entire community.
Charity holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and African American Studies, a Master of Science in Agricultural Communication, Education & Leadership, and is pursuing a PhD at The Ohio State University, where her research explores global approaches to philanthropy and urban education.
